Fancy Sapphire

We owned a Canary Yellow Sapphire mine in Northern Kenya in 1974. We
no longer own this mine but still have first choice of the best stones that
are mined from it as well as enviable proximity to the Sapphire gem
gravels of East Africa. Rare, beautiful and entirely untreated

Untreated vs Treated Sapphire – The vast majority of Sapphire and Fancy Sapphire is treated these days. In the Far East, all sorts of tricks are employed to improve, enhance or even completely change the color of a gemstone. A recent treatment known as beryllium treatment has allowed low grade yellow sapphire in Sri Lanka to be transformed into top color pinks. Of course these treatments can now be detected but many consumers have been duped into paying high prices for what are really low grade goods.
